Like every organization, Holy Family Home and Shelter is dependent upon volunteer support for so many of the tasks needing to be done in order to fulfill its mission. Volunteers enhance the daily lives of our residents by:

Once the application is received, someone from the Shelter will call you and set an appointment for an interview. This is most important so that we can meet you and you can meet us. The next step will be to follow-up on your references and to run a security check (this is required by law of all staff and volunteers).
When this is complete, you will be assigned a task meeting your expertise and our needs. Days and times will be managed to accommodate your schedule. Throughout your volunteer time with the Shelter, staff will be available for assistance, and training will be made available as appropriate.
Note: Students and those re-entering the workforce, volunteer time will equate as work- related experience on a resume or job application form. The shelter will keep a documented record of your hours and this can be made available upon request.
So … thank you for considering joining the many volunteers who work throughout the year to make this home a happier place, a cleaner place, a safer place and a more secure place for those who are living with us. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our staff.
